Gender parity

For content on gender parity (or gender balance), referring to equal numbers and representation proportions of women and men, or of girls and boys, in a particular setting, situation, forum, body etc.; e.g. in a school, in a workplace, on a committee, in a parliament. It’s often calculated as the ratio of female-to-male values for a given indicator. In accordance with the UN System-wide Strategy, Gender parity is considered to be between 47% and 53%.
