Investigation Interviews
Note
For content on investigation interviews: according to the Investigation Manual, OIGI builds its cases on evidence gathered from a variety of sources, both internal (WFP) and external (vendors, former staff members). The cases are built upon the theory of corroboration (allegations must be verified and supported by reliable evidence in order to become findings). All evidence, both inculpatory and exculpatory, is assessed. In this stage, investigators interview and re-interview witnesses and confidential sources as necessary. Toward the conclusion of an investigation, and sometimes earlier (depending upon the case), investigators interview the subject(s) of an investigation. At the interview, investigators notify the subject of the allegations, the rules and regulations that have allegedly been breached, and the standards and rules applicable to the investigation at issue.
