Misconduct
Note
For content on misconduct, understood as a failure by a staff member or consultant to comply with his or her duties and obligations under the Staff Regulations and Staff Rules, and WFP administrative issuances, or to observe the standards of conduct expected of an international civil servant. (See Manual Section VIII.1.2.1 for a list of documents that set forth applicable duties, obligations, and standards of conduct.) Such a failure could be deliberate (i.e. an intentional or wilful act or omission), or result from an extreme or aggravated failure to exercise the standard of care that a reasonable person would have exercised with respect to a reasonably foreseeable risk (i.e. gross negligence), or from a complete disregard of a risk which is likely to cause harm (i.e. recklessness).
