Cash-Based Transfers (CBT)

For content related to cash-based transfer operations, including training courses, manuals, e-Learning, guidelines and all other tools to facilitate the implementation of CBT operations. WFP also supports governments and partners to implement their own cash programmes. WFP implements CBT where markets function and financial infrastructure is effective. Through the strategic choice to use cash and/or value vouchers, WFP empowers beneficiaries to take decisions about when and what food to buy in local shops and markets. This allows them to meet their particular food and other essential needs and preferences while injecting much needed funds into local economies and impacting local production.
