Résumé
The WFP interim country strategic plan for Algeria (2019–2022) has two strategic outcomes and four activities that contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 2. The strategic outcomes are derived from stakeholder consultations and have the aim of ensuring the food security and nutrition of the Sahrawi refugees, in collaboration with WFP’s partners. Under strategic outcome 1, WFP will meet basic food needs in the camps through the provision of general food assistance, nutrition-sensitive school feeding and complementary livelihood activities. Strategic outcome 2 has the aim of improving the nutrition status of targeted, vulnerable camp residents through the treatment of moderate acute malnutrition in pregnant and lactating women and girls, children aged 6-59 months, girls and boys and the prevention of malnutrition in pregnant and lactating women and girls. WFP will address malnutrition and anaemia by improving prevention and treatment, raising awareness of good nutrition and ensuring that all of its interventions are nutrition-sensitive. Efforts will be made to revitalize discussion and coordination of nutrition activities with stakeholders.
