Résumé
At the request of Indonesia’s Ministry of National Development Planning, WFP and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with the involvement of a Team of Indonesian University economists and professors estimated food consumption patterns in Indonesia until 2045. The food consumption modelling covers a wide range of analysis of very important and interesting factors particularly those directly related to food consumption and food demands trends. As an important strategic document, the study looks at food policy scenarios as part of the country’s next medium-term (2020-2025) and long-term (2025-2045) development plans. Based on analyses of food consumption trends and its relationship with prices and income levels across 33 provinces, the report recommended revision of existing policies particularly linked to food consumption and production of staple foods, i.e. rice, maize, meat and soybean.
