Summary
In 2018, as needs continued to grow, WFP and the European Union (EU) continued to work closely together to save lives, reduce the risks of disasters and build a better future for communities affected by conflict, climate change, economic shocks and extreme poverty. Together the EU and its Member States were WFP’s largest donor, contributing €2.5 billion to WFP and once again showing their commitment to the world’s most vulnerable people. Thanks to that generous funding, WFP was able to address the most pressing food crises, providing a lifeline for millions around the world and helping them get back on their feet by addressing long-term development challenges.
