The evaluation, commissioned by the Regional Office of the World Food Programme (WFP) for Latin America and the Caribbean, covered the implementation of the pilot of the Local and Regional Food Procurement Policy in Latin America and the Caribbean. This pilot was implemented between April 2021 and December 2023 in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The objective of the evaluation was to analyze the results, good practices, and lessons learned from the implementation of the pilot policy in Latin America and the Caribbean, in order to provide useful information for Phase II of the policy's integration into the strategic plans of the country offices. The evaluation addressed three key questions focused on analyzing the relevance, effectiveness, coherence, and considerations of gender equality and social inclusion.
