Résumé
The School Feeding Service of the UN World Food Programme invited leading experts to present a range of academic, scientific and technical knowledge in the field of Food for Education (FFE) in order to identify evidence-based benefits and knowledge gaps. The purpose was to better understand the conditions in which FFE programmes can produce the greatest effects. The seminar also served WFP’s School Feeding Service to gather and disseminate the most current facts, figures, and solutions available on Food for Education. The seminar was organized into four panels: Nutrition and Health; Education; Social Equality; and Local Agriculture Production plus an additional set of key research initiatives on Food for Education. Experts presented research-based evidence and facilitated panel discussions and working groups. The full presentations and their discussions are found in the report as references. The seminar’s success can be measured by the large body of evidence-based benefits identified and the key knowledge gaps that were recognized. This report helps practitioners and policy makers plan an effective way forward.
