Summary
WFP reached 1.2 million people, delivering over USD 40.8 million and over 8, 800 metric tons of food -saving and changing lives- despite severe security constraints and sharply declining funding that obliged WFP to scale back emergency food assistance below 50 percent of its annual average over the past five years. Funding shortfalls have forced WFP to scale back operations. Without urgent support, nutrition and food security could further deteriorate in a country already among the world’s top five food-security crises. Lives are at stake.
