Summary
The findings of the COHA study in Kenya reaffirmed the results of similar studies in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean that undernutrition has significant impacts on the economy. The country is estimated to have lost an equivalent of about Ksh 373.9 Billion in 2014, which represented 6.9 per cent of GDP in 2014. Productivity related losses contributed the largest costs at 6.5 per cent of GDP followed by health and education at 0.34 per cent and 0.06 per cent, respectively.
